Be It Enacted by the City Council of the City of New Sharon, Iowa: Section

1. PurposeThe purpose of this ordinance is to establish reasonable regulations for mobile food vendors operating within the City of New Sharon in order to protect public health, safety, and welfare while supporting local economic development and community events. 

Section 2. Definitions:Mobile Food Vendor: Any person or business that prepares, sells, or serves food or beverages from a mobile unit, including food trucks, trailers, carts, or similar vehicles.

Mobile Food Unit (MFU): A self‑contained vehicle or trailer equipped to store, prepare, cook, or serve food.

Special Event: Any city‑approved event, festival, market, or gathering open to the public.

Vendor Permit: A permit issued by the City of New Sharon authorizing a mobile food vendor to operate within city limits.

Peddler’s License: A license issued by the City of New Sharon allowing temporary commercial activity within city limits.
