Job description:
The City of New Sharon is accepting applications for the position of a full time or part-time Police Officer, ILEA certification is preferred, but non-certified applicants are encouraged to apply.
The city conducts physical agility test, post test, and a psychological and a pre-employment drug screen and physical for all non ILEA certified officers. Current ILEA certified officers are not required to take the physical agility test or post test. Starting salary is based upon experience and qualifications.
What we are seeking are dedicated, team-oriented individuals to perform a wide range of law enforcement and crime prevention duties for the safety and protection of life and property in the New Sharon community.
New Sharon Police Officers preserve peace, restore order, and serve the best interests of community safety. Officers regularly engage in problem solving, community education/outreach, critical thinking, and perform investigative work in preparation of arrests and criminal prosecution. A background check will be performed on all applicants.
