I have a TON of memories, mostly from when I was a boy, living across the street from what is now the City Park Building.  Back in those days it was the fire station where my dad served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years. My dad always sat at the head of the table where he had a ‘clear’ view of everything that was moving downtown.  We had a ‘fire phone’ in our house that rang with a solid ring until either you picked it up or all of the other ten fire fighters hung theirs up.  It had a nice big button on the phone that you could push to activate the siren to call the men to ACTION. And boy, when you pushed that button, THERE WAS A LOT OF ACTION!  I will be sharing more memories as the time passes, but for now I will stop and give some of you a chance to ‘remember when’.
